Health, Sickness and Well-being in Organisations:

An action research project to explore the taking and relinquishing of responsibility and the management of "retainment".

This project focuses on two explorations:

  1. Sourcing the leadership and authority to promote healthy ways of being at work and going sick - especially focusing on the taking and relinquishing of responsibility.

  2. The emotional management of the comittment and presence of members of a system for the work task, defined as "retainment".

WORKING METHODS will involve:

  •  interviewing individuals who have taken up the sick role and those who have helped manage them and treat them;

  • seeking organisational partners to facilitate a process of research, reporting and application of findings for organisational learning and change.
